Nurturing a Garden of Hope and Joy
As we come to the end of 2020 and prepare ourselves for 2021, it gives us the opportunity to reflect on this extraordinary year and the challenges it has brought to all of us, but in particular to schools up and down the country. It would be easy to be despondent and negative – but that would be wrong!
At Loreto Preparatory School life has continued, albeit differently, in the same ways as it always does. The girls are participating, achieving and enjoying. Every girl should be saluted for the positivity and resilience they have shown. Their determination to get on with life and the care and support that they give to each other is an example to us all.
Learning is happening and staff are working tirelessly to ensure that the very best opportunities are provided. Parents and families are supportive and encouraging as we navigate our way through this unprecedented time. It is uncertain times for us all at the moment, but we hope that we have shown that by working together as a community we can be a powerful force.
In the week that the first vaccination to protect against covid was given, all the girls have been planting bulbs in their rainbow shaped garden – a symbol of hope and joy to mark a year that will go down in history for us all.
As we leave 2020 behind and we look forward to a brighter 2021, we wait in excited anticipation for our “Garden of Hope and Joy” to bloom.
