Loreto Preparatory School for Girls, Altrincham
Loreto Prepatory School is a school which offers an excellent Catholic education for its pupils.
A school which, through the values of Mary Ward, actively promotes a Catholic vision of life, supporting the child (and their family) at every stage of their faith journey;
A school which welcomes children into a happy, caring, friendly environment - where children love coming to school;
A school where good pupil discipline underpins the way children and adults treat each other … with dignity and respect;
A school where children are stimulated and motivated to learn, thriving on personal achievement - valuing and celebrating the contribution of every child;
A high performing school which is concerned with, but not driven by, Government targets, test results and league tables;
A school which endeavours to develop each child to the full, bringing the mission statement to life (physically, socially, culturally, spiritually and academically);
A school which prepares children, not just for exams …. but for life;
A school where everyone is proud to say I belong to Loreto Prep School!
It is a Catholic independent school for girls aged 3 to 11. The school is under the trusteeship of the Loreto sisters. The Loreto sisters are a worldwide network and have 5 schools in England and over 150 worldwide.
The Loreto Sisters are part of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary and as such belong to a worldwide network, with schools in all five continents. The foundress of the order was Mary Ward, a Yorkshire woman of great vision who, in the late 16th century believed in education for girls!
Loreto Preparatory School was established in Altrincham in 1909, initially as part of the Loreto Grammar School and in 1972 moved to its present site and was established as a separate school with its own Governing Body. The two schools remain close and often share facilities and staff.
