Staffing Assessment Our dedicated teachers are all fully qualified and regularly attend further training to develop specialist skills. They are supported by experienced teaching assistants. Physical Education and Music are taught by specialist teachers. The school has a team of support teachers who work alongside the class teachers in the core subjects of Mathematics and English. This involves working in small groups or individually. Consequently in our junior department Maths is taught in groups of approximately fifteen and English support is targeted at those pupils who may experience difficulty in reading or spelling. If the school is concerned that a child has a learning difficulty such as dyslexia we are able to seek the professional services of an educational psychologist to give advice. Support is also given to extend the able and gifted children. Teaching and Learning are reviewed in the light of National Curriculum requirements as well as guidelines and directives from government. As an independent school we are able to develop our curriculum in the best interests of our children. Formal assessments take place twice a year and allow the monitoring of progress so that extension and support work can be put in place.
