Curriculum Art Art and design may be undertaken in combination with other subjects or as a basis for developing specific learning objectives matched to the abilities of the children in each class. Design and Technology Design and Technology is taught throughout the school by investigating how to design for a specific purpose. Through practical tasks using a selection of materials the children are able to develop a range of skills and techniques. Performing Arts Our children are offered a wide range of opportunities from classroom activities where they develop and explore their musical ideas to instrumental tuition offered in recorder guitar piano and a variety of orchestral instruments provided by a team of experienced staff. Our musicians encourage and support each other. At times impromptu groups rehearsing new material can be heard around the school. All children leave us with an ability to perform at some level on a musical instrument most with certificates of merit awarded internally. Others achieve success in The Associated Board of the Royal School of Music Examinations held annually at the school. The school orchestra our talented choristers and other instrumental ensembles are given ample opportunity to perform throughout the school year as well as taking part in musical productions. Our children find music making an enjoyable and rewarding experience which is reflected in their enthusiasm and commitment.
