Curriculum Religious Education Religious Education which encompasses moral and spiritual development is central to our teaching which is based on the principles of the Gospel. Liturgical celebration both Eucharistic and non- Eucharistic is at the heart of life at Loreto Prep School. Assemblies too are an important feature of school life. All children are required to follow the Religious Education Programme in the school but at the same time appreciation respect and tolerance of other Faiths are exercised and encouraged. There is a well-established Sacramental Programme in the school enabling parents and teachers to work together to prepare children for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist which are celebrated as part of the school family. English Mathematics and Science The teaching of the core subjects of English Mathematics and Science is considered to be of paramount importance. While there is an emphasis on academic excellence achievement is celebrated at all levels of ability and in all areas. Our schemes have been carefully chosen and are reviewed annually to ensure we continue to provide a broad and balanced modern curriculum with continuity progression and extension. As well as the experience of curriculum visits off site we also invite experts into the classroom to enrich the curriculum for the pupils. We have had visits from a Viking settler Florence Nightingale and a fascinating talk and display of Birds of Prey to name but a few.
