Prep 4 2018 - 2019
Prep 4 Class Teacher
Prep 4 and Prep 5 Teaching Assistant
A Very Warm Welcome to Prep 4!
The children have settled well and responded quickly to the routines and expectations of Prep 4.
We are very proud of them all!
Building on the confidence that the girls have gained in previous years, we are particularly promoting independence skills. In prep 4, they are encouraged to organise their own equipment, solve problems by thinking for themselves and to feel comfortable about making mistakes because, after all, we learn from them!
The girls will experience a broad and balanced curriculum, including daily English and Maths lessons, with appropriate support and challenge. Some of the foundation subjects are taught by specialist teachers with expert curriculum knowledge.
The year ahead brings several trips and visitors to deepen the learning taking place. We will be experiencing a day in the life of a hunter gatherer from the Stone Age in February and visiting The Grovesnor Museum in May.
We are certain there will be many memories to treasure as well as a lot of hard work!
Thank you to all parents for your continuous support in making your child’s school journey as smooth as it can be.
We are very happy to meet with you should you have anything you wish to discuss.

Please remember to practise your times tables. A popular game is
'Hit the Button' on the Topmarks website.
This week, to mark the centenary of the end of The Great War, the children were immersed in the story of Sydney Dobson. 'One Boy's War' by Lynn Huggins-Cooper is a perfectly pitched text study for 8 year-olds. As a result, the quality of the children's writing and their empathy for the characters has been very touching. Their letters from Ma Dobson have made their way to their Golden Writing books!
